Lightplay Email Templates is a Shopify app run by Lightplay. It helps merchants design their store's notification emails. This policy explains what the app handles, and why.
The short version
The app asks Shopify for no access to your store data. It can't see your customers, orders or products, and it doesn't send your emails. Shopify keeps sending them.
What we store
- Your store's Shopify address, and the access token Shopify issues, so the app can sign you in and check your plan.
- Your design settings, including colours, fonts and any text you write for your emails.
- Images you upload, along with their file names. We re-save each image, which removes metadata such as location.
- Which templates you've marked as installed, so we can tell you when one needs updating.
Your plan and billing are handled by Shopify. We ask Shopify whether your store has an active plan, and we never see your payment details.
Your customers' data
We don't collect or store it. Previews use made-up sample orders. The code you paste into Shopify contains placeholders that Shopify fills in when it sends each email, and we're not involved in that step.
Images and fonts in your emails
Images you upload are public, because your customers' email apps need to load them without signing in. Anyone with an image's link can view it, so don't upload anything private. When a customer opens an email, their email app requests those images from our server, and our server may briefly log standard request details such as the IP address.
If you choose a web font, email apps that support web fonts will request it from Google Fonts when an email is opened. Google's privacy policy applies to those requests. The standard fonts in the designer don't do this.
Who else handles this data
- Shopify, for signing in, billing and sending your emails.
- Hostinger, which provides the server the app runs on.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while the app is installed. When you uninstall, Shopify asks us to erase your store's data about 48 hours later, and we delete your designs, images and records. Images in emails you already pasted into Shopify stop showing at that point. You can delete an uploaded image yourself at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@lightplay.cloud. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date above.
